Interview with Ingo Froboese: The end of the gym? – Digital

Estimated read time 1 min read

“Fitness pope” Ingo Froboese does not believe that the corona pandemic will permanently shift training to the living room, but rather to virtual reality. That should also change the classic gym.

Interview by Philipp Bovermann

Ingo Froboese is what the magazines call a “fitness pope”: a well-known sports scientist and health expert. The 63-year-old teaches as a professor at the Center for Health through Sport and Exercise at the Cologne Sport University and writes books on how to lead a healthy life. The Rhinelander preaches that sport should definitely be fun. In his office there is a skeleton wearing the colorful motto of the Cologne Carnival Clubs around its neck. The interview takes place via video call.
