Is the ASUS ROG 34-inch QD-OLED worth it?
I recently bought the ASUS ROG Strix 34-inch QD-OLED monitor after reading some reviews, but I’ve run into a few issues. The colors look stunning, but I notice some flickering during dark scenes, which is distracting. Also, I’m unsure if the high price justifies the actual performance. Should I keep it or consider alternatives?

I've been using a QD-OLED for months, and honestly, the colors are amazing. But I did notice some burn-in after a while. Has anyone experienced that?

Burn-in is a concern, but with proper usage, it’s usually manageable. Did you enable any screensavers or pixel shift features?

I think the flickering might be related to the local dimming feature. Some monitors have that issue, especially in dark scenes.

David, is there a way to disable local dimming on this monitor? I prefer consistent brightness.

The price is quite steep. Do you think it’s justified for gaming and media consumption, or would a traditional LED monitor suffice?

I went from an IPS to a QD-OLED, and the contrast is a game-changer. But I also experienced some uniformity issues.

Kelly, how bad was the uniformity? Mine has some slight vignetting, but it’s not too noticeable.

For my setup, color accuracy was more important, so I chose a different model. Do you think the ASUS ROG is the best for that?
Interesting:

From what I’ve read, ASUS does good calibration out of the box. Did you do any custom calibration?

Considering your experiences, would you recommend this monitor for fast-paced gaming?

Nancy, it’s excellent for gaming. The response time is fantastic, but keep an eye on flickering issues.

I’ve read that some users experience image retention. Is that a common problem with QD-OLEDs?
.png)
In my experience, image retention is minimal if you turn off the monitor regularly. Anyone else notice that?

George, do you think it's worth the extra cost for this tech compared to OLEDs from other brands?

I think it depends on your use case. If you’re into high-end gaming and media, it’s worth considering.

Has anyone tested the durability of the QD-OLED panels over months? Wondering about long-term performance.

Emma, I’ve had mine for 6 months, and still no issues. Just make sure to follow proper usage tips.
Flickering sounds like it could be a setting issue. Have you checked the refresh rate and any adaptive sync options?
Mike, good point. I had a similar problem and switching to a higher refresh rate helped.
