Is the ASUS ROG Strix QD-OLED the Best Ultrawide?

Lately, I’ve been eyeing ultrawide gaming monitors and came across the ASUS ROG Strix QD-OLED. It sounds amazing on paper with its vibrant colors and fast response times, but I’m a bit worried about potential issues like burn-in or calibration problems over time. I already use a high-refresh-rate monitor, but I want something that truly elevates my gaming and multimedia experience.

I’ve read some reviews praising its picture quality, yet others mention inconsistent color calibration or longevity issues. Considering the high price point, should I go for this monitor, or are there better alternatives out there? Have any of you used it long-term and can share your experiences? I want to make sure I get the best ultrawide for gaming without regrets.

I’ve been using the ASUS QD-OLED for a few months now. No burn-in so far, but I do recommend enabling screensaver features to prevent any risks.

John, thanks for sharing! Do you notice any color calibration issues or dead pixels? I’ve heard some units have minor defects.

I have the LG UltraGear 45GR95, and honestly, the color vibrancy is comparable. The ASUS is more vibrant, but I prefer the build quality of LG.

Mike, how's the performance in fast-paced games? I worry OLED might have some ghosting or response time issues.

Burn-in is a concern with OLEDs, but I think modern panels are pretty resilient if you take care of them. Still, for long gaming sessions, it might be worth considering a QLED or IPS.

David, I agree. I’ve had an OLED TV for a year, and there's no burn-in yet, but I always use screen shift features just in case.

If you’re into competitive gaming, I’d suggest looking at high-refresh IPS monitors. OLEDs are stunning, but the longevity might be an issue for some.

Brian, but isn’t the color and contrast on OLEDs much better? For cinematic experience, I think OLED wins.
