Is the ASUS VG27AQM5A 300Hz Worth It? Need Opinions
I recently decided to upgrade my gaming setup and was eyeing the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQM5A 300Hz monitor. It seems like a solid choice with its high refresh rate, but I’ve run into some concerns after reading a few reviews. The price is pretty high, and I want to make sure it’s worth the investment. Has anyone here used this monitor? How’s the image quality, input lag, and overall performance, especially for fast-paced games?
I’m also wondering if the 300Hz really makes a noticeable difference compared to 144Hz or 240Hz screens. Should I get this, or would I be better off with something cheaper? Would love your honest opinions or any personal experiences before I make the final decision.

I have the VG27AQM5A and can confirm the motion clarity is excellent. No ghosting at all, even in fast scenes. But I’d recommend calibrating the colors for better visuals.

Mike, did you notice any input lag? I’ve heard some 300Hz monitors can have increased latency.

Input lag is minimal in my experience. It’s comparable to other high-refresh-rate monitors. For competitive gaming, it’s pretty responsive.

Is the price justified? I saw it’s quite expensive compared to similar models. Would you recommend saving up for this one?

Laura, the high refresh rate is a game-changer for fast-paced titles. If you’re serious about gaming and have the budget, I think it’s worth it.

I have a different brand, but I’m curious—does the curved screen make a difference in immersion? Is it worth considering?

Anna, this monitor isn’t curved; it’s flat. But many prefer flat screens for accuracy and consistent viewing angles.

For me, the build quality and durability are solid. However, the stand is a bit stiff to adjust. Anyone else had this issue?

Ben, yes, I found the stand a little stiff too, but once set, it stays stable. No major problems after a few weeks.

Would you recommend this monitor for non-gaming tasks like design or video editing? Or is it mainly geared towards gamers?

Mark, while it’s optimized for gaming, the decent color accuracy and high resolution make it suitable for creative work too. Just calibrate the colors properly.
I’ve been using it for a few weeks now. The 300Hz refresh rate is definitely noticeable if you’re into competitive gaming. Image quality is pretty good, but the colors can be a bit washed out out of the box.
John, does the high refresh rate cause any issues with ghosting or motion blur? That’s my main concern.
