Is the Cooler Master NR2 Pro the Best Mini ITX PC?

I’ve been looking into building a compact gaming PC and came across the Cooler Master NR2 Pro. It looks sleek and compact, which is perfect for my limited space, but I’m a bit concerned about its performance and airflow. I want to run modern games smoothly without overheating or sacrificing too much on parts compatibility.

After reading some reviews, I see it has good build quality, but others mention thermal issues with high-end GPUs. I already own a mid-range GPU and a decent CPU, but I’m unsure if this case will handle my setup well or if I should consider other options. Has anyone used the NR2 Pro for gaming? Is it truly the “ultimate” mini ITX gaming case, or are there better choices out there?

I’ve built a gaming PC in the NR2 Pro, and it’s pretty solid. Just make sure you get a good airflow setup, especially if you're using a powerful GPU.

John, did you face any thermal issues with a high-end GPU? I heard some people struggle with heat in that case.

I have the NR2 Pro and love it for my small desk setup. No thermal problems at all, but I upgraded to better case fans for airflow.

Depending on your GPU, it can get warm. I think it’s a decent case but not necessarily the 'ultimate.' Do you plan to overclock or just gaming?

I think it’s a good choice for a compact build, but if you're running high-end components, consider cases with better cooling options.

David, what other cases would you recommend for similar size but better cooling?

I’ve used the NR2 Pro for a mini ITX build, and it’s quite good. Just pay attention to cooling and maybe add some extra fans.

Anna, it supports SFX power supplies, so you need to get one of those for the case.

I think the case looks great, but I wish it had better stock airflow options. Custom fans help a lot.

Would you say the NR2 Pro is worth it compared to other small cases like the Node 202 or Dan Cases? I’m torn.

I’ve built in both the NR2 Pro and Dan Cases. NR2 Pro is more spacious, but Dan Cases has better thermals.

Sophia, how about noise levels? Is the NR2 Pro quieter with proper fans?

Has anyone tried water cooling in the NR2 Pro? Wondering if that’s a possibility for better temps.

Good question, Rachel. I don’t think it’s ideal for custom water cooling, but some folks have managed it with small AIOs.
