Is the Razer Gigantus V2 XXL Worth It for Serious Gamers?

I recently decided to upgrade my gaming setup and kept hearing about the Razer Gigantus V2 XXL. As someone who’s serious about gaming, I wanted a large, comfortable surface to improve my gameplay. I finally bought one a couple of weeks ago, but now I have some doubts.

The size is definitely impressive—it’s huge and covers my entire desk, which is great for moving my mouse freely. However, I noticed that the surface feels a bit too sticky sometimes, especially during long gaming sessions. Also, I’m not sure if the rubber base is enough to prevent slipping on my wooden desk; I’ve already had a few minor slips.

Should I stick with this mousepad, or are there better alternatives? Did anyone else experience similar issues? I want something durable, with good tracking, and that doesn’t slide around. Would love to hear your thoughts or recommendations before I decide whether to keep it or look elsewhere.

I have the V2 XXL too. The stickiness is normal, but I found that cleaning it gently with a damp cloth helps. Do you use a lot of sweat during gaming? That might make it feel stickier.

Mike, I also noticed that. I think the surface needs some time to break in. Did you notice it becoming more comfortable over time?

For me, the grip has always been solid. I use a cloth mousepad underneath my Razer. Have you considered trying a different surface layer?

I love my Gigantus V2 XXL. No slipping at all, but I did put a non-slip pad underneath to be extra sure. Maybe your desk surface is too smooth?

Emily, I agree. I added a rubber mat underneath and it stopped slipping. The size is perfect for wide movement.

I've had mine for months and it still feels great. Maybe you got a defective one? Have you tried contacting Razer support?

Laura, I think it's more about the surface material. Some people prefer softer or harder textures. What do you think?

I think the XXL size is fantastic for FPS games, but I was worried about desk space. Did anyone find it too big for smaller desks?

I have a small desk and the XXL still fits fine. It's actually much better for free mousing.

How does the durability compare? I read some reviews about fraying edges. Has anyone experienced that?

Rachel, mine is holding up well so far after 6 months. Just make sure not to drag your mouse across the edges aggressively.

What about cleaning? Is it easy to keep it looking new, or does it stain easily?

Grace, I just wipe it with a damp cloth after gaming sessions. No stains yet.

Would you recommend the V2 XXL over other brands like Corsair or SteelSeries for serious gaming?

Sam
Sam

Olivia, I've tried both, but the Razer feels more premium and has better surface consistency in my opinion.

Is the XXL size worth it if I mostly play FPS games? Or is a smaller one better for quick movements?

Megan
Megan

Kyle, I think it depends on your playstyle. I prefer the XXL for the freedom of movement, but others might find it too large.

Has anyone used it for both gaming and work? How does it perform for productivity tasks?

Victoria

Brian, I use mine for both. It’s comfortable and large enough to spread out documents or extra peripherals.

Are there any good alternatives with similar size but better surface feel or less stickiness?

George, I heard the Logitech G640 is similar in size and maybe less sticky, but I haven't tried it myself.
