Is the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5’s 60-Hour Battery Worth It?
I recently bought the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5 headset because of its advertised 60-hour battery life, thinking I could finally enjoy long gaming sessions without constantly charging. However, after a few days of use, I’ve run into some issues.
The battery seems to drain much faster than I expected, especially when I use the headset for 4-5 hours straight. I double-checked the settings and made sure it’s fully charged, but the battery life doesn’t seem to match the claims. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I consider returning it or is there a way to optimize the battery life?
Would love to hear your experiences—are the 60 hours realistic or just marketing hype? Any tips for extending battery life on this model?

I've used mine for about 55 hours on a single charge, but I turn off the mic when not needed. Maybe that helps? Does turning off features save battery?

David, yeah, I agree. I was expecting closer to 60 hours but get around 45-50. Still decent, but not quite what was promised.

Are you using the Bluetooth or wired connection? Wireless definitely uses more power, which could explain the shorter battery life.

I’ve had mine for a month, and it’s pretty close to the 60-hour mark. Just keep the volume at moderate levels and avoid using Bluetooth for extended periods.

Battery degradation is normal. Maybe replacing the battery or checking if the headset is still under warranty could be options?
I have the Nova 5, and honestly, I get around 50 hours with moderate use. Are you sure you're charging it correctly? Sometimes the cable quality affects charging speed.
Mike, I think the battery life also depends on volume levels. Higher volumes drain the battery faster, right? What volume do you usually keep yours at?
