João Pedro sends message to Alejandro Garnacho after Chelsea win

Forward of Chelsea says hard work will help Alejandro Garnacho secure more minutes after standout display against Aston Villa.

Joao Pedro has explained what Alejandro Garnacho needs to do to earn a regular place in the starting lineup at Chelsea.

Both players impressed during Chelsea’s recent victory over Aston Villa. Pedro stole the spotlight with a hat-trick, while Garnacho contributed with an assist and one of his most selfless performances since joining the club.

The result also boosted Chelsea’s push in the race for a top-four finish after dropped points elsewhere for rivals.

Speaking after the match, Pedro praised Garnacho’s performance but emphasised that consistency and effort will determine how often he features for the team.

According to Pedro, the Argentine winger already has the quality required — but maintaining the right attitude is essential.

“He’s an important player with great experience,” Pedro said. “His time is going to come. He just needs to keep working hard and soon he’ll be on the pitch more.”

Garnacho has faced criticism in recent weeks, with some observers questioning his work rate and team play. However, his willingness to set up Pedro’s third goal against Villa suggested a more mature and unselfish approach.

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior was also said to be impressed with the winger’s display, seeing it as a sign of positive development.
