K1 RGB Gaming Keyboard & Mouse Review: Worth It?
I’ve recently been looking into upgrading my gaming setup, and the K1 RGB Gaming Keyboard and Mouse caught my attention. I read some reviews, but most are pretty vague about long-term use and actual performance during intense gaming sessions. I want something reliable that feels good, especially for first-person shooters and RTS games.
After purchasing the set, I noticed that the keys are quite responsive and the RGB lighting is customizable, which is cool. However, I’ve run into a couple of issues. The mouse sometimes skips or lags when I move quickly, which affects my gameplay. Also, the keyboard’s keys seem a bit loud, and I worry it might be distracting during late-night gaming or when streaming.
Should I stick with this set, or is there something better in this price range? Has anyone experienced similar problems or found a way to improve performance? Would love to hear your honest opinions before I decide to keep or return these peripherals.

The loud keys are a deal-breaker for me. I prefer quieter switches. Has anyone tried replacing the keycaps or using O-rings?

I haven't had lag issues, but I agree about the loud keys. I use film-coated keycaps to dampen the noise, and it helped a lot.

For the RGB lighting, I think it's pretty customizable. But does anyone know if it affects battery life if you're using it with a laptop on battery?

I think the build quality is decent for the price. The only gripe I have is that the mouse buttons feel a bit stiff. Does that go away with time?

Anna, yes, the mouse buttons loosen up after a few weeks of use. I had the same issue initially.

Are there any better alternatives in the same price range? I'm considering the Corsair or Razer options but not sure if they're worth the extra money.

I've used both Corsair and Razer. Honestly, the K1 RGB set is quite good for its price, especially if you're not a hardcore gamer. The key responsiveness is great, but the mouse could be improved.

Kevin, do you think the lag issues are common, or could it be just a unit defect? I might try a different brand if it's a widespread problem.

I've had no lag at all, but I agree about the noise. Maybe look into mechanical keyboard switches with quieter options if that bothers you.
I've been using the K1 set for a month now. The mouse lag is rare for me, maybe your USB port is causing issues? Try plugging it into a different port.
Mike, good point. I found that sometimes the software conflicts with other drivers. Did you install any specific software for it?
