Protesters outside a Reform UK rally in Swindon, which Nigel Farage is attending, have shared why they think Swindon is an ‘anti-racist town.’

The Reform UK rally, taking place at MECA on Thursday evening, March 12, has seen huge crowds form outside the event hall to protest against Reform UK’s policies.

Our reporter at the scene recorded over 50 protesters chanting with banners ahead of the rally.

Here’s what they had to say.

‘Multiculturalism should be celebrated’

George Cheese, who attended the protest, told the Swindon Advertiser that he believes Farage represents “hatred” and that multiculturalism should be celebrated.

Rhys Williams, Chair of Swindon Stand Up To Racism, was also in attendance outside MECA.

He told the Adver: “We want to show that Swindon is an anti-racist town, and I truly believe there is an anti-racist majority in society.”

Protester Ruth told the Swindon Advertiser that she joined the protest to push back against Reform UK’s Brexit policies in particular.

She has described the party as “playing with our children’s lives and not dealing with climate change.”

However, It wasn’t just protesters who gathered at the event early to share their views.
