Thinking of the TECKNET 75% Wired Gaming Keyboard
I recently bought the TECKNET 75% wired gaming keyboard after reading some reviews, but I have a few concerns. The compact size is appealing, especially for my limited desk space, but I wonder if I’ll miss any essential keys during long gaming sessions. Also, I ran into an issue where the key response feels a bit off compared to my full-sized keyboard. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I stick with it or consider a different model? Would love to hear your thoughts before I decide to keep or return it.

I think the 75% layout is great for space-saving, but I agree, some keys like media controls are missing. Did you notice any inconvenience?

I had a similar problem with key response initially, but updating the firmware fixed it for me.

The response feeling off sounds like a switch issue. Did you try adjusting the debounce time or using different switches?

Chris, I don’t think this model is hot-swappable, so changing switches might not be an option.

I’ve found that the build quality on mine is solid. Are you sure your connection isn't loose?

Battery life isn’t a concern for wired keyboards, but does it have any issues with lag or delay?

Good point, Laura. I mostly use wired keyboards, and I haven't experienced lag with mine.

Does anyone know if the keycaps are PBT or ABS? I prefer PBT for durability.

From what I’ve seen, it uses ABS keycaps. Not the best for long-term wear.

Tom, I agree. That’s why I swapped mine out for aftermarket PBT keycaps.

Are there any customization options for key mapping or lighting on this model?
.png)
James, it has basic RGB lighting, but I don’t think it supports extensive customization without software.

I think the compact size is perfect for gaming. I don’t miss the numpad at all.

Kevin, do you find it easier to move around your mouse with the smaller keyboard?

I run into the same issue with response feeling off. I wonder if it’s a defect or just the switches.

Switches are usually the culprit. You might want to try a different switch type if possible.

I’d recommend trying out a different keyboard before deciding. Sometimes it’s just a matter of preference.

Has anyone experienced any connectivity issues with this wired model? I’ve read some reviews about unstable connections.
.png)
Wired keyboards usually don’t have connection issues, so it might be a faulty cable or port.
.png)
Would you recommend this for someone who does both gaming and typing daily? Or is it more gaming-focused?
.png)
Kate, I think it’s decent for both, but if you type a lot, you might prefer a full-sized keyboard.

Overall, I think it’s a good budget option, but make sure to check the return policy if you experience issues.
I've been using the TECKNET 75% for a month now, and I love the compact design. No issues with key response for me.
Mike, do you miss having a dedicated numpad or function keys? I use those a lot for work.
