As we’re just days away from Hollywood’s biggest night of the year, Marvel fans seem to have worked out that a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer is dropping during the Oscars ceremony.

This weekend marks the end of awards season with the annual Academy Awards, held on 15 March at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. As the night will see Sinners and One Battle After Another battling it out as the most-nominated films this year, the ceremony will also include a Marvel reunion.

Oscars telecast executive producer Katy Mullan teased a “very special” Bridesmaids reunion as well as a Marvel reunion “for the superhero fans”.

“So we’re gonna have superstar superheroes, and there is also going to be an extraterrestrial on the stage. So you can figure that one out,” Mullan told The Hollywood Reporter this week.

News of a reunion have sent MCU fans in a frenzy as some think the Oscars will be the perfect platform to launch yet another (and possibly final?) trailer for Avengers: Doomsday.

After being treated to four distinct teasers for the film coming to our screens in December, it looks like Marvel may drop a new trailer during one of the ad breaks of the live broadcasting, though chances that this will actually happen are slim.

“What if they introduce the Doomsday trailer?” one hopeful Marvel fan wrote on Twitter/X when news of the reunion, with several MCU stars in attendance, was announced.

‘”Thats a nice way to say we’re getting a Doomsday trailer,” another one wrote after doing the maths.

Meanwhile, Doomsday directors and producers Joe and Anthony Russo clarified the confusion generated by the four teasers, featuring glimpses of individual storylines for OG characters including Chris Evans’ Captain America and Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.
